  3. Goals and Objectives To create awareness and influence the academic and business community. Impulse education of quality. Get involved in the preparation of teachers and students. Encourage the development of politics, legal and academic tools.

MATHEMATICS • National Mathematical Olympiad The national mathematical Olympiad is the strategy that Omapa has to get inside the Paraguayan classrooms, with an innovative propose of a mathematic of quality that encourages the logical thinking and the reasoning and uses the mathematic as a tool for problem solving of any kind. Teachers and students work together throughout the school year, aiming to train for this competition, which has five rounds and covers the whole school year.

  6. MATHEMATICS • National Mathematical Olympiad Books • Each year, a selection of math problems is published by OMAPA. These problems are creative, different and based in logical thinking. • These books are handed to each teacher who participates in the workshops as one of the activities of the National Mathematical Olympiad. SCIENTIFIC INITIATION Young Talents The outstanding contestants of the National Mathematical Olympiad are invited to keep working on their skills in the Centers of Scientific Initiation with emphasis in Mathematics for Young Talents. The aim of the project is to train elite groups, since early years, in the scientific research and the study of sciences, using mathematics as a tool.

  17. SCIENTIFIC INITIATION Some Former Olympians... Where are they in the world now? Diego Segovia Bachelor in Sociology by the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (Italy). He was the former Director of public policies and strategies at the Public TV of Paraguay. Nilda Chamorro Civil Engineer by the National University of Asunción (Paraguay) with a minor in Environmental Engineering in Palermo University (Italy). Carlos Sauer Electronic Engineer by the National University of Asunción (Paraguay) with a master’s degree in Computer Science by the IMPA (Brazil), currently studying a PhD in applied Mathematics at the MIT (Massachusetts, USA) with a scholarship MIT – Fulbright – Itaipú. Carlos Alberto Jara Civil Engineer by the National University of Asunción (Paraguay), he is currently studying a Master’s degree in sanitary engineering in Polytechnic University in Valencia (Spain).

Guillermo Cabral Economist by the National University of Asunción (Paraguay), Master in Economy by Torcuato di Tella University (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Joel Prieto Electronic Engineer by the Catholic University of Asunción (Paraguay) with a master’s degree in engines from Sevilla University (Spain). He is currently studying a PhD in engines in Sevilla University (Spain). Mattias Hiebert Food Processing student at University of British Columbia (Canada) Carlos Jara de Marco Economist by the Catholic University of Asunción (Paraguay), Master in International Political Economy and Development by Fordham University (USA).

Maurizio Caló Master in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics student at Stanford University, California (USA) with a Stanford scholarship Andrés Codas Automation and Control Engineer and M.Sc. in Optimization applied to the oil industry in the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He is currently a researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway). Ezequiel Gamarra Electromechanical Engineering student at the University of La Plata (Argentina) Michael Chan Aeronautical Engineering student at the University of Cordoba (Argentina)

SCIENCES Environmental Education and Scientific Methods • Program Water, Source of Life • Development in classroom of the Modules of Water Practices and Scientific Experiments, Font of Life, articulated around the theme Water in Paraguay, they are multidisciplinary - Mathematic, Natural Sciences, Communication, Social Studies and Artistic Education.

  23. SCIENCES Environmental Education and Scientific Methods • Proyecto WET OMAPAhas been accredited by the UNESCO as an allowed organization to develop the project WET in the Paraguay. An educative program specialized in water, of scientific content, with 20 years of experience.

SCIENCES Environmental Education and Scientific Methods • FICIENCIAS: Fair of Innovation and Sciences A space where students of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil present creative and innovative ideas that can contribute with the knowledge and the evolution of the sciences’ world. The foundation PTI-PY assigned to OMAPA as the institution in charge of the event’s promotion and the support of the participation of schools of our country.

  28. COMPUTING AGUARANDÚ: Game of words of the Guaraní language (Aguará: Fox. Arandú: Wisdom) Aguarandú It comes as a country-proposal, because the necessity of the programming professional that the entire world is having, and the potential that Paraguay has with its majority young population.

COMPUTING Aguarandú Omapa, with 25 years of experiences in mathematical Olympiads, knows deeply the skills of Paraguayan young, who possess a logical thinking structure, the essential need for computer programming. Betting on these values, the Programming Contest is created to generate a seedbed of talents able to produce services that the entire world is demanding.
