Project Background • Summary of original Project Aims • To facilitate interoperability across Intute, the Academy and its Subject Centres • To rationalise resource provision to the Higher Education Academy and Intute’s respective audiences • Allow easy sharing of resource metadata between Subject Centres and Intute; • Ensure cataloguing consistency and quality and explore cataloguing facility for Subject Centres. • Scope of revised project from July 07 • 4 Subject Centres involved: Biosciences, Medev, Health Sciences & Practice, Palatine • Delivery of resource cataloguing guidelines and cataloguing interface • Data migration from subject centres to Intute • Data transfer direct from Intute for Medev records • Data cleansing, followed by addition of educational metadata by subject centres • Development of search client to be installed and embedded in subject centre websites Subject Centre ICT Meeting 18/01/08

Future • Next Stage • Remaining AIRDIP Subject Centres to install and test search client software • Data cleansing to be completed: records then live in AIRDIP database • Subject Centres will add their own educational metadata to the live records • Transition • Intute will catalogue additional 500 records on behalf of subject centres • Establish cataloguing workflow for ongoing record creation / updating • Investigate mechanism for automatic updating of AIRDIP from Intute database where required • Establish longer term communication channels for Subject Centres / Intute • Develop visual identifiers for shared records i.e. HEA logo display in Intute catalogue • A model for future Intute / HEA collaboration?
