  1. Closing out the 2013-14 School Year

Seniors • What if I did not get in the non-exempt Status for Final Exam form? • If a grade improves – Change Gradebook - go immediately to the student’s counselor to make correction. • Turn in all senior exams to curriculum office. • May 15 - Graduation Practice • We always need adoptive homeroom teachers – please volunteer. • Senior Homeroom Teachers, make plans to stay after school for practice – if you are not going to be available for graduation or practice – you must find a substitute and inform the principal. • May 17 – Graduation 5:30pm, but be there at 4:30pm. • Reception at 4:30, • We walk in through the door at 5:30pm

  3. Do You Have A Student Who Earned “C” Or Above On The 4th 9wks Interim, But Is Now In Danger Of Failing? Conference With Student And Provide Secondary Interim By May 9th.

  5. EXAM Schedule: May 20 5th period Exam May 21 2nd & 3rd Exams May 22 Extended homeroom & underclassmen awards Abbreviated 2nd & 3rd period 4th Exam Lunch 5th Period (Movie) and complete grading Early examinations MUST be approved by AP Curriculum or principal.

  6. First Responsibility - Grade Book EOC Reminder Ms. Donahoe, My child earned an 84 and the teacher recorded a 2.0 Follow all District procedures Record all graded work by Monday

  7. Check Your Gradebook • ARE THE GRADES EQUITABLE. • DO I HAVE TOO FEW OR TOO MANY ASSIGNMENTS • IF I DELETED AN ASSIGNMENT WOULD THAT POSITIVELY EFFECT ALL STUDENTS? • IF I DROPPED THE LOWEST GRADE WOULD THAT BENEFIT ALL?

Next,Meet Deadlines Exams due – 5/19-Monday Post 4th 9weeks grades each day after exams All grades posted by 1:30pm – Thursday 5/22 Complete Grade Verification – Sign in 5/23 Turn in all documents requested Prepare mail outs to students/families (Friday) Complete checkout and prepare classroom for summer.

  9. Check out sheets available Monday 5/19 Must complete all task before leaving on Friday. Any difficulties see Administrator

  10. For Curriculum Closeout Turn in exam 5/19 Turn in Detailed Student Summary for failing students by 5/16. Post all grades by Thursday 5/22…1:30pm. We do not print comments on Final Report Cards. Complete grade verification 5/23 by 8:30 am Turn in exams and scan sheets for absent students 5/23 Turn in all student answer sheets and essays for final exams.5/23 Print Section Summary for each 2nd semester class. 5/23 Turn in all teaching materials – disc, manuals to department head.

  11. Preparing your classroom Remove any personal items. Store textbooks in book rooms, with no books stacked directly on the floor. No books stacked on desk or shelves in classrooms. Return lab equipment and calculators to Department Chair. Unplug all computers and cover with plastic bags to protect from weather. Turn off and unplug all prometheans and smartboards. Teachers will return all promethean/smartboard accessories to Ms. Plaisance (usb and audio cords, pens, activotes, remotes, etc). Teachers will return all elmos and promethean document cameras. Turn in all teacher ancillary materials to the department head We expect painting in 200 building, so remove everything from walls.

Other Notes • Locker Clean-out:Friday 5/16 • Teachers will be provided with extra bags for their homeroom. • Teachers are to monitor hallways and help students with trash bags. • When complete, teachers will ask students to bring bags to stack near trashcans for pick-up. • TextBooks: • You may begin picking up textbooks the week of 5/12-16. • BUT, you must allow students to keep the textbook to study. • Use picking up the textbook as incentive for completing a good study guide. • Exam Days: • Everyone must give a test! • No Book bags are allowed. Collect and turn in to discipline. • Limit passes and no passes the last 30minutes of class. • Don’t tell a student they can come back and finish an exam. • No parties, no food. • After exams, all teachers walk students to bus lanes.

  17. Curriculum verification: Alg I & Geom • Curriculum Verification and Roster Portal (CVR) • is now open for verification of student rosters. This process is to provide teachers with the opportunity to review and verify their student rosters to ensure the accuracy of the information used to calculate Transitional Student Growth Data. Teachers will first have the opportunity to edit their own student rosters and then principals will review edits and certify the school has completed verification by the following dates: • Teacher Deadline – May 14, 2014 • Principal Deadline – May 16, 2014  • Portal https://leads13.doe.louisiana.gov/cvr • Teachers of the following grades and subject level should verify their rosters. • 3rd grade ELA and Math • 4th – 8th grade ELA, Math, Science and/or Social Studies • Algebra 1 EOC classes with students up to 9th grade • Geometry EOC classes with students up to 10th grade
