  7. Legalize it (round the world) - statutory and management reporting in global implementations Global ERP Implementations - Lessons Learnt - a user panel with input from Boeing, Agilent, Qualcomm and others We are presenting user perspectives and experiences in this challenging balancing act for global implementation. On one side is the pressure to achieve a fast and cost effective global reach of the corporate ERP system, on the other hand we must guarantee local and corporate compliance in all areas and every country. In both areas the constraints and demands are being increased and tightened. What is your experience in managing these opposing interests? How did you set priorities? How to you manage the necessary compromises and add-on solutions? What successes and failures did you encounter? And lastly do you have any advice? The panel will feature Michelle Zaharoff (Agilent), Adelaide Binner (Boeing), Dan Chaffer (Qualcomm) and Hans Kolbe (European attorney with international law experience and chair of the MN-SIG).

  8. Finding your way through Localizations and Globalizations – A hitchhiker’s guide for the adventurous traveler • The Multi-National SIG Group is extending its panel presentation on international reporting improvements in R12. We are reviewing the globalization and localization tools for European and China VAT and statutory reporting. We will focus on three areas: • Improvements from 11I to Release 12, especially the better organization and clarification on integration of country specific localizations into core functionality, versus European localizations and country localizations. • Multi-Country versus single country solutions – example gapless VAT sequencing. How can I use a single solution for multiple countries? • Compliance options in China: what are the key elements and how to most multi-nationals comply. • Presenters are: Rene Roembell – GNR Germany, Itamar Gelber– Italy, Chloe Xuan Li (PCK Technology Shanghai), Michelle, Hans Kolbe.
