  2. Ocean current affect Climate. • The temperature of an ocean current affects the temperature of the air that passes over it. For example, the warm North Pacific current heats cool air that passes over it, providing a milder climate to coastal regions of B.C.

  3. In contrast, the cold Labrador current, cools the air of coastal locations in Labrador and Northern Newfoundland. • The gulf stream, flowing northward from the southern Atlantic, warms the air of coastal areas in Nova Scotia and southern Newfoundland.
