Variation of Xtal+detector response at 20°C

  • PMT + CsI(Tl) → +0.2 to 0.4%/°K

  • APD + CsI(Tl) → +2.3 to 3.8 %/°K

Proposition

  • Use of Charge PreAmplifier + shaper of peaking time of 3 μs

  • Feedback Capacitor Cf adapted to the gain of photodetector

  • Rf*CF >> shaping time

  • Rf >> 1 MΩ to minimize noise

  • PreAmplifier Rise Time T=Cd/wc*Cf (be careful for LaBr3+APD)

  • Measurements must be done in temperature controled room
