  2. Then … • Library / central budget for journal subscription • Cost has increased substantially • Lost in the indirects • Departmental / central admin capturing bibliographic information • List of published works • Annual report • Web site • RAE

Now … • Need to consider how to fund the cost of publication • Project DI – will this lead to a change in approach, wanting publication during the project? • Most is after the project, so is still in indirects • Dept or institutional fund to support the cost • Budget allocation, funded by QR and indirects • Contribution by funder (e.g. Wellcome) • Similar to provision made for bridging and redundancy costs • Mechanism needed to access funds

  4. Now … • Administration of the outputs • As before, in terms of recording, but now can have dynamic links to the content • Use of repositories • Will we be more interested, given the linkage to cost? • Greater interactions between librarians and research administrators • Managing, cataloguing and using the data • Effects on metrics, and vice versa • Remembering the purpose of research
