  2. Sawing • Tenon saw, Dovetail saw, Japanese (pull) saw. Fine handcut Joinery. EgHandcut dovetail drawers. • Bandsaws and jigsaws. For curved cuts or inside cuts, not achievable with circular saw blade. • Table saw, or Sliding compound miter saw. Cuts large panels accuratly and at exact angles. Bevel angle easily set. Trenching for housing joints also very easy.

  3. Drilling • Pilot holes. Countersunk holes. • Dowels and Knock down fittings. • Housing for expanding kitchen hinges. • Holesaw, forstner bit, spade bit, twist bit

  4. Edge treatments • Solid edging • Iron on strip – veneer • Edge-banding machines – veneer or PVC strip

  5. Nailing and screwing • Dovetail nailing • Manual or automated. • Gangnails • Nail guns • Steel selection based on purpose and environment. Eg Stainless Steel screws used for exterior decking screws.

  6. Sanding • Low grade to higher grades, ie 60 to 180 • Shaping. Disc, Belt or spindle (Bobbin) sander.

  7. Turning • Spindle turning • Face plate turning • Off centre turning
