If I had a million dollars…

  • Or $5,000

  • What would you do with it? What would be the result?

The Fundraising Cycle

Cycle

What kind of support to seek

  • Cash Donations

  • In-kind Donations

  • Grants

  • Volunteers

  • Other?

Who to ask?

  • Businesses

  • Community Organizations/non-profits

  • Foundations

  • Public

Make your case

  • What need are you addressing?

  • Brainstorm a list of the benefits of what you do? Fit into “issue areas”. Who cares about those?

  • What are they “buying” or investing in?

  • Tell a story

  • Use data, in moderation

Grant writing

  • Find well suited grants before you need them!

  • Make your case once (master proposal)

  • Plan for the report (evaluation)

Logic Model

You raised money- now what?
