  4. Beads of Courage Bowl Design • Interior Size 5-6” Diameter, 4-5” Height • Larger is Better • Stable Base, Durable Construction • Loose Fitting Lid • Lid Finial Easy to Grasp • Beads of Courage disc available • No toxic materials of finishes • Finish sealed well to prevent germs and mold

  7. Segmented Bowl Construction • Consists of a base • Multiple rings • Each ring consists of multiple segments • Various woods can be used • If base is greater than 4” it should be a floating base to prevent cracking

  8. Bowl Design • Find a design on the Internet or Pinterest

  9. Bowl Design • Import into 3D Design Pro • Select half of vessel • Draw Vessel Wall

  10. Build Segmented Bowl • Import into Woodturner Pro • Scale Bowl to size

  11. Build Segmented Bowl • Select Base Type • Select Ring Thickness • Select Wood Species • # of Segments per ring

  17. Prepare Boards • Cut Boards to Width per Cutting Summary • Cut Boards to Safety Length per Cutting Summary • Use Pencil to mark top and one side of each Board • Mark Row Number on each Board

  18. Use Wedgie Sled to Cut Segments

  19. Set Sled Stop For Edge Length

  20. Cut Segments

  21. Sand Segment Edges

  22. Assemble Ring on Plate

  23. Glue Up Ring in Two Steps

  24. Compress Ring

  25. Sand Ring Smooth and Level
