  2. MED’s “Engage” Activity • True – False “Quiz” • Anonymous • Self-identify as “Raised Catholic” RC or “Not Catholic” NC • Used to gauge class BEFORE starting evolution unit

  3. “True or False?” • According to the theory of evolution (TOE), humans descended from apes… just like the ones you can see at the Cincinnati Zoo. • The pope, and therefore the RC Church, condemns the TOE. (Desired response = “false”)

  4. “True or False?” • It is intellectually incompatible to believe in both God and evolutionary theory. • Evolution is hotly debated in the scientific community because it is still “just a theory”. • (Desired response = “false”)
