  2. HOW IT WORKS ? • The legislature is Bicameral which means its made up of two houses . The legislature contains 150 house of representatives , the senate contains 31 members . Every two years they elect one member to the house . He or she must be 21 years of age . Election occurs every four years .Members of the legislature gets paid 7,200 per year.

  3. Sessions The legislature meets in the state capital every two years, each session last 140 days .The governor can call the legislature into a special session if theirs an emergency .The sessions can last more than 30 days .

  4. The one who takes Roll “ • The members of the house elect a speaker .The speaker has important powers .He or she keeps order during debates and other proceedings. A bill is a proposed law. The speaker can vote on all matters of the house.

  5. Yes Sir ! • The lieutenant governor is part of the executive branch. Still, the lieutenant governor has great power over the legislature branch. Only the senate questions and answer the rules of the lieutenant .Also the governor appoints the members of all senate committees and all of senate committees sends bills to committees for review. The lieutenant may not vote unless if it’s a tie.

  6. Committees • The house of representatives and the senate divide their wrong committees . The senate has 13 standing ,or permanent committees . This house contains 36 members . Each committee considers different kinds of bills . • For example the senate education committee looks at all bills that deal with schools
