What’s Next? • Chairs of PLPA and Vice-Chairs of Committees to schedule meeting to review objectives • Done by May 1st • Committees to set meetings • Done by May 15 • Committee Chairs & Vice-Chairs to meet monthly to review progress • Quarterly update meetings held with entire PLPA membership • Next meeting July, 2010

  3. Standards/Accreditation/Ethics

The Mission • To create the Standards for the PLPA • Crematories, Funeral Homes, Cemeteries • To keep an open mind that we cannot dictate business practices – but standards that will be a part of who a PLPA member is • How will these Standards be monitored? • Is there a rating system for the different types of PLPA members? “Rules of Engagement” for those that agree to be members? How to handle complaints against members?

  5. Certified Pet Loss Professional/Education

The Mission • Create a program that will give credentials to individuals in the pet death care industry • Course/curriculum creation • Continuing Education requirements • How/where the classes held – taking into account all technology pieces available too! • Educational components for the website and for members • White paper downloads • Monthly (?) webinars on pet death care business practices • Educational components for the consumer to turn to as they choose a pet memorialization facility

  8. The Mission • How do we get the educational components out to the members/consumer? • Working with the Education committee too • Work with the veterinary industry to educate/market to them as well our PLPA message • Marketing for more members

  10. The Mission • To help pet death care businesses be more profitable • To help market the benefits of PLPA in their day-to-day travels • Assisting in being our “eyes and ears” in the industry so that we can constantly be aware of educational and marketing opportunities.
