  4. Press release ` Healthy toast with unique taste made by a pharmaceutist'. In a toast store run by Chung Rye Chung, pharmaceutist, she is toasting and selling toasts . The store is located in the opposite side of Daegu department, Dongseong-ro, Junggu and is about the size of three pyong. The toasts has unique sauces such as Chunggukjang, green tea, chitosan, and tomato. The price of one toast is 1,000 won. A customer who bought the toast on her way to home from work said “The toasts are thought to be good and trustworthy, because they are made by a pharmaceutist. Chunggukjang is an unlikely sauce for a toast, but it tastes great with toasts and tastes better. “ Chung ran a drug store for ten years in Gyeongju. She said “I have been interested in cooking, and liked making unique foods. In last December, I came up with the idea of “well-being” toast and developed the sauce. I found running a toast store more fun than running a drug store.”  Choi Gye-sook, team leader, who is making the toasts along with Chung said, “The idea of toasts with Chunggukjang may be unfamiliar to many people.   7. Chunggukjang Jam About the invention The existing jams are made of sugar concentrated fruits and they tend to cause diabetes and obesity because of the high content of sugar. Unlike the existing jams, Chunggukjang jam is made of powder of Chunggukjang , fermented soybeans, with no unique scent of it, fruits, vegetables, and mayonnaise made of olive oil and it has anti-cancer effect, treat constipation, strengthen immune system, and has anti-oxidant effect. It has the excellent effect of fermented soybeans. This product is made to be a jam to ensure every can enjoy tasty Chunggukjang . It has the flavor loved by kids, young people and foreigners. Production method The existing Chunggukjang (soup, powder, pill, dried) failed to stimulate appetite because of the dark brown color, but this product’ s color is light orange and the grains of ingredients are visible, arousing appetite. Mayonnaise, one of the ingredients, is made of olive oil. Therefore it is good for heart and has many good effects for health.

  8. Chunggukjang Jam • Characteristics-100% Korean beans are used. The beans are fermented in yellow soil room in a scientific way. It has no unique smell of Chunggukjang. Kids, young people and foreigners tend to hesitate to eat Chunggukjang even though they are well aware of the excellent effects of Chunggukjang is well known. However this product is loved by them. • Usage –spread on breads, salad dressing • Merits-The existing jams have too much sugar, and cause obesity and diabetes. It has a great flavor and there is no need for adding sugar or starch syrup, because it has a sweet flavor soaked out from the natural ingredients Usage – hard-boiled food, smothered food, roasted food, salad dressing sauce Merits- This product is the first soy sauce that has ceramic balls in it.   11. Ceramic ball’s characteristics Ceramic is known to have effects such as far infrared radiation, and antibacterial effect, but is not used in foods that much. This product is developed to make sure that the good effects of ceramics are utilized in foods. Functional ceramic balls are made of elvan, yellow soil and jade. When they are added in soy sauce, sweet rice drink, rice wine, soju, water Kimchi, and gravy, the taste and flavor are enhanced and the food can be preserved for a long time. In the process of cooking, distribution, and preservation, the ceramic balls move. As a result, the liquidity of the foods increases, the fermentation of microorganisms is prevented and the sedimentation of the food from the reaction of the ingredients is prevented.   13. Chunggukjang diet Chungggukjang has lecithin and saponine in it. The ingredients absorb excessive fat or cholesterol and discharge them . Chungggukjang has much more fibers than other beans and has many beneficial bacteria that can reach the intestines . It is good for treating constipation. Fibers absorb water in the intestines and allow the excrement to be discharged smoothly.

Among them as many as 9 people have the patent right.  At first they were just ordinary house wives who did not know about patent attorney, and patent right. But they came to where they are now as they are dreaming of a better life. Seo Jung-ae (38) developed baebaji, pants for babies that make it easier to change diapers. She runs a nursery school for infants. As she has to take care of babies from 100 days old to one year old or more, she gave lots of thoughts to how to change diapers more easily and she developed the baebaji. She said, "Many aspects of our lives are related to diapers, like taking care of mother who is bedridden with dementia and giving birth to a baby at an old age. I tried to find an easier way of doing the repeated work, diaper-changing." Patent is not necessarily required to be a member. Jo Gyong-mi (34) said "Lots of patented devices are made in beauty parlors in an effort to use tools more easily. I joined this association to share information." At that time women who devoted their lives to taking care of house hold matters were regarded good women. Now, there are women who said good bye to the old days. In a conference room of Daegu Polytechnic College University, "women inventors" got together. They said they will make inventions. Among them are a pharmaceutist who developed "Chunggukjang Frima" that decreases the calorie in coffee and a designer who developed interior materials with onion peels. They are united to overcome all the inconveniences in the world. Who are they? They are the members of Daegu branch of Korea Women Inventors Association. It is the first association for women inventors in Daegu who make interesting inventions. There are 16 members including oriental medical doctor, pharmaceutist, hair dresser, and designer of various ages. They think the inconvenience is the mother of invention. They developed Chunggukjang jam, shoulder slinging baby blanket, retracted nipple fixer and so on. Among them 9 members have patents registered. There are many housewives who became a business woman to turn their ideas into products. Hwang Young-hee (42) developed a mat that prevent the water vein and Choi Hyang-ja(47) developed natural cosmetics made of local plants. They are women entrepreneurs who head companies. Where do the ideas come from? They write down ideas as soon as the ideas occurred to them. They think out of a box. They try to find ways to make inconvenient thins convenient. Any woman who has curiosity and unique ideas are allowed to join the group. Chung Rye-chung (54), president of the Daegu branch said, "Inconvenience is the mother of invention. When you find things inconvenient while cooking or cleaning the house, it would be good to share ideas with members to overcome the inconveniences."
