Objective 1 - Stakeholders • Our lead is Simon Stevens, an AAC user himself • Established ways of engaging with end users • Preparing survey for end users • Simon will attend the 1Voice event on 1st Dec • Had one stakeholder meeting and reviewing the need for a second one • On going work with regards our contact list • Discussion with other regions to establish common practices

  3. Objective 2 - Mapping • Mapping meeting with other regions on the 5th of November • Awaiting electronic mapping tool • Awaiting assistance from ACE regarding education sector contacts • Speaking to services managers to obtain SLT contacts

  4. Objective 3 – Good Practice Guidelines • A “Good Practice” questionnaire was distributed to a selective group of professionals in our region • Team is reviewing ACT’s practices and procedures

  5. Objective 4 – Care Pathways • Questionnaire was distributed to our group • Low response • Questionnaire is handed over to local teams in every AAC related ACT appointment • This covers the West Midlands only • Trying to forward to teams covering a wider area

  6. Objective 5 - Database • On going discussion with other regions regarding the way forward

  7. Objective 6 - Procurement • Midlands/East lead • First suppliers meeting on the 25th of October • Proposal of a contractual framework for AAC equipment • Next: look at the wider picture • Awaiting for framework draft • Possible need for a second meeting

  8. Objective 7 – Remote services • On going discussion with other regions regarding next steps • Conference call meeting in early December

  9. Objective 8 – Training/Learning • On going discussion with other regions regarding the way forward

Other information on our region • Monthly update report • User survey • Online • Comments will be forwarded to objective leads as appropriate • Gauging people’s views regarding the need for a second (for our region) stakeholder meeting • Our distribution list numbers over 400 professionals • We still fear that we are not covering the whole area geographically
