  3. Sources of Citizenship a. “Law of the soil” - Born in United States or in American territories. b. “Law of blood” - Birth to American parent or parents c. Naturalization - Immigrants who wish to become citizens

Let’s Score that Citizenship Test! • Remember, to pass the test as administered by USCIS (Citizenship and Immigration Services) a prospective citizen must be able to: • Read (one of three sentences), write (one of three sentences), and speak (determined during interview) at least minimal English • Correctly answer 6 of up to 10 Civics questions randomly pulled from the 100 question bank • For our 37 question version, that’s approximately 22.2 correct!
