  1. The following slides in this presentation are templates for poster sized 42 inches by 56 inches. • You can page through the templates and choose one you want to use. • After choosing the Template, you can copy your template selection into a new PowerPoint presentation. Go to file and Save the project to a desired location on your computer. Now you can start building your poster. • You want to make sure you size your poster correctly. The Poster is already sized in the template as a 42 by 56 inch poster. If you want to change the size, do the following commands. • Go to File, then Page Set-up • Choose custom, and enter the size you want for your poster. • Example: 36” x 56” • You can now start by copy & pasting or typing your text in areas indicated on the template. • Note: The text box areas are highlighted in a light yellow to help you identify the area of the text. When you are near completion of your poster you can change the text box area to white. This will give your design a more open look with out looking boxed in. Double click the yellow area in the text box and the color palette should appear you can select the white box and that should change your text box area to white. You can repeat these steps for each text box.

These would both work, but we might have to make them a little lighter. Each of these sections can have a “decorative” headline, using a line or box to set it off…. if you want. The rest of the section should be a plain font (this is Times new roman) and should be at least 24 ppi. This is 30 ppi. It’s good to divide this big page into 3 or 4 columns. You can use decorative dividing lines between the columns, or leave white spaceYou can “box” in sections with results/data, or other sections you want to empasize.
