PLASMOTEG Engineering Centre(Institute of The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus) Established 1990 • History Separated from Institute of Electronics of the NAS of Belarus in 1990 • Staff: Today 55 people are working at Plasmoteg, 39 of them are scientists and engineers • Mission Basic research and development PVD&CVD coating and design of thin film devices

  4. New Technologies • Production nonhydrogenated diamond like carbon (DLC) coatings of large area on articles from metals, ceramics, plastics etc at room temperature. Such DLC coatings have microhardness up to 85 GPa, close to a natural diamond. • Technology of a new abrasive material for precision surface treatment and a method for the manufacturing therfor (United States Patents # 5,643,343, # 5,711,773 and European Patent # 0730513) • Technology of pulsed cathodic arc plasma synthesis of biocompatible nanostructural carbon coating on artificial heart valves and other medical implants

New Technologies • Design and development of new technological pulsed cathodic arc plasma sources for coating de-posit of metal, their nitrides and carbides . • Research and development Arc-DLC coating deposition by pulsed cathodic arc plasma sources on metals, semicon-ductors, ceramics and plastics.

Coating of Manufacturing Tools : • Cutting tools for non ferrous metals, wood, plastics, composite materials (drills,scriber, cutters, taps, thread-cutters) • Measuring tools such as limit plug gauges, limit thread plug gauges, flat limit plug gauges, go/no-go ring gauges, screw ring gauges etc; • Punches and dies; • Coating on watch parts for the replacement of ruby stones

Coating for Machine-building Super-hard, wear and chemical resistant DLC coatings on: • precision parts of mechanisms and devices; • slider bearings and frictionless bearings; • injectors and stop valves of fuel systems of engines 4.Coating for Optics Industry • Wear resistant DLC coatings on laser mirrors, germanium laser lenses, glasses lenses , interference filters etc. • Optoelectronic wave guides • Decorative architectural glasses.
