AMRUTAMURT is dedicated to improve the quality of life of the poor and the underprivileged people of the world,and to serve in times of calamities by providing relief and rehabilitation to the victims of natural and man-made disasters. Your funding, through the Off the Mat program, assisted in: • Purchase of the first floor of the orphanage building. • Administrative expenses to keep the orphanage running. AapneAapApneAap’s mission is to increase choices for at-risk girls and women in order to guarantee access to their rights (as per our 3L model of rights to Livelihood, Legal empowerment, and Literacy) and deter the purchase of sex through policy and social change. Your funding assisted in: • Creation of a literacy and vocational skills training program in Najafgargh. • Children are introduced to computers at this center and the first group of 20 women have started a sewing course. • Offsetting operational costs of a community development center at this location.   5. SanlaapSanlaap works against the trafficking of women and children for sexual purposes. Your funding assisted in: • Construction of a shelter for 25 female survivors who are 18 years of age and need an affordable place to live while they reintegrate into society and seek work opportunities. • 75 new set of bunk beds. • Monthly funding of program expenses at Bowbazar and KhidirpurDrop-in Centers - food, education, salaries and rent.

  6. SanlaapThey have established rescue shelters for survivors of trafficking, which provide education, mental health services, vocational training and economic initiatives, and legal aid. Your funding also assisted in: • Construction of a new vocational skills training center where an artisan workshop will focus on batik & block printing as well as tailoring. • Renovation of the Drop-in Centers in Bowbazar and Khidirpur. This includes new floors, ceiling, paint, carpets for the kids, storage cabinets, blackboard, TV/DVD player, and educational materials including Hindi and Bengali books. Your funding assisted in: • Setting up two training centers. • Training of 40 new artisans. • Purchase of jewelry-making tools • Purchase of 12 sewing machines. • Leasing a building for jewelry production in Kolkata for the next 5 years.   8. SanvedFounded in 2004 on the belief that body movement, when used sensitively, could become a powerful tool for rehabilitation and advocacy. This tool transforms young victims of sexual abuse from being a "rehabilitative victim" to a "proactive advocate" . Your funding also assisted in: • Purchase of 7-seater vehicle to transport Dance Movement Therapists. These dancers give performances in and around their community in order to raise awareness for human-trafficking. • Offsetting administrative expenses for the overall operation of running Kolkata Sanved, as well as part of trainers’ salaries for the entire year.
