  1. MAGE: The Founts of Power Carolina Arbona– Project Manager Jeremy Hall – Customer Service Specialist Danielle Turner – Marketing Specialist Sean Hendrix – Lead Engineer CarionPelton– Manufacturing Engineer Mohamed Zendah– Instrumentation Engineer • Basic Information: • Founts of power is a MAGE version of capture the flag involving two teams who each have their own fount and their own cup. • The fount functions as a flag holder and the cup functions as a flag. • Visual indicators are provided when cup is taken or poured into a fount. • Audio feedback is provided on both the cup and the fount when the cup is taken as well as when the game is over. • The game is over when a team successfully pours the opponent’s cup into their fount. • Technical Features: • Founts communicate with server via XBee • HIU detection on player via CANbus. • Runs on a 7.4V rechargeable lithium ion battery. • Visuals run on 56kHz PWM that allows for 256 color controlled by software. • The pouring action is implemented via Infrared Communication with emitters on the fount and receivers on the cup. • Cup/fount recognition is accomplished through RFID. • Absence of cup detected through the use of a hall effect sensor. Functional Block Diagram Conclusion: The project required us to implement the full design process. The project was broken down into several blocks that were assigned to each team member to research and prototype individually before integrating into a final design. We learned how to effectively communicate in a team setting to accomplish a task well and on time.
