  3. I am the witch expert who came into Salem hoping to help identify the witches. I tried to stand up and do what is right when I realized it was all a hoax. Rev. Hale

  4. At first I accused people of being witches, and then I became afraid and testified that the whole ordeal was a hoax. The problem is no one believed me, so I changed my story again. Mary Warren

  5. I am an older man whose wife is arrested as a witch for reading too much. I am put to death by stones being placed on my chest until I could no longer breathe. Giles Corey

  6. I am the teen-age girl who basically started the Salem witch trials with my accusations. Abigail Williams

  28. “And do you know that near to four hundred are in the jails from Marblehead to Lynn, and upon my signature?” Danforth

  29. “Excellency, it is a natural lie to tell; I beg you, stop now before another is condemned! I may shut my conscience to it no more - - - private vengeance is working through this testimony!” Rev. Hale
