Graduation Requirements Required Courses Credits • English 4 • Math 4 • Social Studies 3 • Science 3 • Economic Education for Consumers ½ • Technology ½ • Fine Art 1 • Health ½ • Physical Education ½ • Electives 6 • Total Credits for Graduation 23 You will find a Basic Graduation Requirements Worksheet in the Academic Information Booklet

  5. State Testing State Testing for the Class of 2014 is yet to be determined.

  6. Scheduling Procedures and Guidelines • Guidance Counselors meet with students in English classes • Students will be registering online for courses – verification letter along with student selected courses will be mailed home for parent/guardian signature • Students MUST be enrolled in at least 6 classes per semester – but are encouraged to schedule 7 classes per semester. • Students may not be permitted to drop an elective class to pick-up an additional study hall. • Honors/AP classes my require summer reading

  9. General Information cont. In 9th grade, all students will take: English – CP or Honors Math – Integrated Alg 1; Algebra 1 CP; Geometry CP; or Geometry Honors Science – Lab Science 9 CP or Biology Honors Social Studies – World History CP or World History Honors Physical Education

  10. General Information cont. In 9th grade, all students have the opportunity to select elective courses from: Foreign Language Art Music Business Industrial Arts

  11. General Information cont. Responsibility Students need to be responsible for completing assignments on time – turning them in – and preparing for tests/quizzes

OCISOhio Career Information System • OCIS provides information on careers and college/universities and trade/tech schools not only in Ohio but in the United States • 8th grade students who had computer awareness in the first semester developed an individual portfolio – 8th grade students this semester will develop their portfolios March 4 and 5 • These portfolios can be used throughout high school • Check OCIS out on our website: • www.townshipschools.com – Riverside High School – Media Center – OCIS • Username – RiversHS password – ohiocis03
