  4. What is cyber? • "Cyber" is a prefix used to describe a person, thing, or idea as part of the computer and information age. Taken from kybernetes, Greek for "steersman" or "governor," it was first used in cybernetics, a word coined by Norbert Wiener and his colleagues. Common usages include cyberculture, cyberpunk, and cyberspace.

  5. What is cyber-world? • An online world where users have the mechanisms in place to transact any business or personal activity as easily and freely as they can transact them in the physical world. • An environment for sophisticated online computing. • The futuristic online world of computing.

What is cyber-crime? • The computer as a target - attacking the computers of others (spreading viruses is an example). • The computer as a weapon - using a computer to commit "traditional crime" that we see in the physical world (such as fraud or illegal gambling). • The computer as an accessory - using a computer as a "fancy filing cabinet" to store illegal or stolen information.

  12. What is cyber-crime? Thieves install equipment on the front of an existing bankcard slot. The equipment appears normal.

  13. What is cyber-crime? The camera, which will read your PIN illegally, is installed on the ATM and housed in an innocent looking leaflet holder. The camera is installed and ready to capture your PIN by looking down on the keypad as you enter it.

How to could I help protecting our cyber-world? • Keep your computer free from viruses and malwares, • Do NOT root your Android device/ jailbreak your iOS device • Say NO to key gen., crack, patch software,…etc! • Avoid surfing unsecured websites! • Avoid clicking on any links you do not know! • Avoid following instructions which you do not know (emails, websites)! When you are doubt seek for help/clarification... • Have either anti-viruses or Internet security installed in your computer, • Help sharing this knowledge to people in your community • Enrich your knowledge
