Reusing Materials • Refinishing and using modern hardware will give cabinetry new life. • Moulding will be used throughout the home • The appliances are not energy star, however with the climate naturally drying clothes is possible • Furniture may be reupholstered or covered to create a more modern look. • Chimney will be removed and used to make a walkway in the backyard. • The 2 x 10 from the back wall can be used for raised garden beds in the backyard

  13. Community Gardens • Many benefits go along with a community garden • It will bring the community together • It could be a good source of food for lower income families • it will give the community a sense of accomplishment.

  14. Other Similar Projects • Many of the company houses that are left have already been renovated. When you drive through neighbor hoods you can see that almost all the company houses still have there original design plan but with modern appearance. • Some issues during renovation included incomplete studs and reinforcing floorboards on second floor. Totally replace the floor.
