Programs • Championships • RRCA awards championship events through a competitive bidding process at the National, Regional, and State level to RRCA member clubs and events. • The goal of the RRCA Championship Events is to help the host club or event recruit top performing runners, attract sponsors, and improve civic and media support. • 50 State Championship Challenge

Programs • Championships • Championship Events may qualify to receive the following benefits: • Gatorade (10K or longer distance) • FuelBelt, Inc. premiums • Corporate Supporter coupons for event participants • Discounted Services from Active.com • National and Regional Championships receive six awards from the RRCA for their overall, masters and grandmasters winners.

  7. Programs Women’s Distance Festivals Most WDF events focus on a 5K run/walk or longer. Clubs and events are encouraged to involve beginners in the WDF events by holding pre-race training programs. The RRCA encourages clubs and events to designate their race as a Women's Distance Festival events if the event is a women's race or has a special women's only start time or wave.

Programs • Coaching Certification: • A specific body of knowledge and teaching process on sports science, training methods, coaching fundamentals, professional conduct and ethics. • Certification of individuals who demonstrate they have learned the knowledge and can apply it to coaching. • Continuing education for RRCA certified coaches. • A national registry of current RRCA certified coaches.

Programs • Education & Advocacy • The RRCA has developed safety training programs, materials, and tip sheets on various topics related to safety. • RRCA General Running Safety Tips • RRCA Tips on Empowering Runners • Hot Weather Running Safety Tips • Cold Weather Running Safety Tips • Race Etiquette for Runners • Rules of the Road, Trail and Track

Programs • Personal Fitness Program • How the Program Works: • Select your 6 month total mileage goal from 300, 600, or 1000 miles • Log on to www.RRCA.org/Running/Tools • Create your FREE Account to Log Your Miles • Start running and logging your miles • After six months, indicate your total on the Personal Fitness Program form and mail along with your payment to receive your reward. • Celebrate your accomplishment!

Programs RRCA National Run@Work Day The goal of the National Run @ Work Day is for RRCA members across the country to host community based events encouraging people to incorporate at least 35 minutes of exercise into their daily lives. This goal can be achieved by a running club, an individual, or a corporation hosting a running or walking event with the duration of at least thirty-five minutes before work, during lunch, or immediately after

  12. Programs State Representative Program State Representatives help promote the mission of the organization and the sport of long distance running at the state level. State Reps represent their clubs interests and concerns at the national level. For information on becoming an RRCA State Rep, please contact a Regional Director or the Executive Director to learn how you can serve in this vital role for the RRCA.

  16. Services RRCA Annual Convention Each year the RRCA gathers in a different city for the annual convention, business meeting, workshops, and national awards banquet. The RRCA awards the National Convention location through a competitive bidding process for member clubs. Hosting the RRCA Convention is a great opportunity for a club to highlight their community’s commitment to running, earn revenue for their club, and promote a local race.

  17. Services Fundraising One benefit of RRCA membership is the IRS nonprofit group exemption status. Nonprofits that operate in and solicit contributions in a state are required, by law, to file charitable solicitation registration forms. As the parent organization, the RRCA offers members who are taking advantage of the nonprofit group exemption status, the service of filing charitable solicitation registrations in all requiring states.

  18. Services • Insurance • Insurance coverage for our membership is the major benefit that the RRCA offers its members. This allows members to host a variety of events, runs and/or races under the RRCA insurance umbrella. Services RRCA National Awards RRCA National Awards - As a service to our members, the RRCA developed the RRCA Annual Awards to acknowledge the service and commitment of outstanding volunteers to the running community. RRCA Volunteer Award Certificate Program - A club president or designated officer may nominate up to 3 individual volunteers that have contributed at least 2000 hours over the years. RRCA Club Web Site Awards - Each year the RRCA recognizes the top club web sites as part of their annual awards

  21. Services News Syndication News articles posted to the RRCA News section are available as a Free RSS (Rich Site Summary) news feed. Webmasters can utilize php, perl or other scripts to list current RRCA news article titles and links on their own web sites. These will automatically update as new articles are posted by the RRCA.
