  3. Third World Countries • Talking about the relationship focusing between the multinational corporations and third world governments in fulfilling the social responsibility.

  4. Apple Inc. • The Fair Labor Association – An outside audit of Chinese factories . • Found widespread breaches of work rules including 60-hour work weeks in violation of the FLA code and Apple’s own standard, and other health and safety violations. • Foxconn, with 1.2 million Chinese employees, is one of China’s largest employers and a major supplier of Apple. It assembles an estimated 40 percent of the smartphones, computers and other electronic gadgets sold around the world

Government of Guyana • One of the most highly indebted nation (Ramsaran) • Guyana has one of the largest remaining rain forest areas in the world • ACanadian company sought a 1,000,000 acres of in search for diamonds and mining operations but was unfortunately unsuccessful • Causing massive damage to the Omai and Essequibo rivers, the main source of drinking water for many of the Guyana people

Policy Reforms • Transparency • More powerful international organizations • US Firms- Earning greater profits with greater social responsibilities to contribute to the betterment of society. • All corporation, stakeholders, International organization and governments should accept moral responsibility for social welfare and individual interests in their economic transactions. • The bottom line is if a foreign country wants to move toward a western model of capitalism it should adopt western-style working conditions as the norm that protects worker rights
