  1. Periodic Table Families Project

Family Album • For this project, your group will be assigned a family from the periodic table • Your group will make a “family album” power point of the elements in your family. • You will divide up the elements between the members of your group, and each group member will make an album page (power point slide) for each of their assigned elements.

  3. Group 1 – Non-Metals Group 2 - Alkali Group 3 - Alkaline Group 4 - Transition Group 5 - Lanthanides Group 6 - Actinides Group 7 – Noble Gases Group 8 - Metalloids Group 9 - Halogens Group 10 – Other metals Groups

Requirements For Each Slide • Each element should have its own slide that includes the following: • Number of protons, neutrons & electrons • Found in nature or lab • Lewis structure • What is it found in/used for? (at least 3 things) • 2 pictures (anything related to the element) • Put your name on the slides you create

  6. Saving Power Point • Save all slides on the X drive • 8th grade • 8C • Kaminer Element Families folder • Click on your period • Save slides in the folder for your group #

  7. Putting it together • When all of your groups slides are done, you will put it together into 1 slide show • Include an extra slide to your presentation that explains which element/elements your group feels is most important and why • Your group will present your presentation to the class
