  1. Supporting new lecturers in learning about education is a national priority and doing so openly allows it to go international • Provide a fully online mode to the PG Cert for staff at any institution of HE, globally • Singapore, South Africa, Australia, USA, Canada, UK • Enable professional & workplace based learning from outside the course to be recognised in the course Multiple social and material influences converge [in] MOOC pedagogy…: teacher preferences and beliefs, disciplinary influences, patterns of learner expectation and engagement, and other contextual factors such as institutional teaching culture (Bayne & Ross 2014)

  2. Confident, compassionate, connected, creativity • Courses - sustained engagement with ideas and people over time • Based on group and individual activity - dialogic learning, interaction with people • Peer evaluated • Assessment tasks and completion certificates (“badges”) for those who complete • Using live and pre-recorded academic multimedia

  3. Activity-basedwe do or make things in groups, with tools, with criteria and roles • Experiential, self-evaluative, practitioner-centred, pragmatics - what works • Dialogic we talk synchronously and asynchronously, even back into deep time • Reflective bringing experience into scholarly evidence • Participatorytutors engage as learners • Community-locatedin disciplines, institutions, work, the world and society • Outcomes ledcurriculumand aims are validatedby the University and contribute to HEA professional recognition

  4. Where, for me FSLT14 worked so well is that it clearly knows what it can and cannot deliver. It is a Bonsai tree, not the entire forest. This is a blessing. • I was waxing lyrical about the experience to an academic colleague I bumped … and she commented "you're obviously thriving on it!” • what has made this course so enjoyable is the smaller scope, the great faciliation and the participation from such a great diversity of learners • I like how this course is focused on what it aims to teach/what we need to learn and does so by being structured in the same way. Perfect alignment. • The most important thing I did, was reflect about the different ways of teaching and learning, … based on our own experience.  • A forgiving, inclusive and accessible, and I repeat 'human' touch.
