  3. Who are we? • Launched in May 2001 by Founder Bracknell Forest Borough Council and Sponsor LDA • The Forum is an independent organisation and is not a platform for sales or political lobbying

  4. Our Mission? To be an active Member Forum which shares information, experiences and ideas in a structured and focused environment Managed by the Public Sector for the Public Sector

  5. How we are structured? • The Forum has two main categories of membership: • Full membership (public sector) • Sponsor membership • The Forum is managed by an elected Core Group • The activities of the Forum are bound by a legally approved Constitution agreed by Members

  6. Progress to Date • Much higher profile nationally • Currently have 430+ members • Held meetings at the Barbican, Milton Keynes, Doncaster and Maidenhead • Fully operational website with 25,000 ‘hits’ per month • Smartcard networking forum

  7. Progress to Date • Involved in Information Dissemination work package for the National Smartcard Project • Many members of Forum heavily involved in other Work Packages • Smartcard networking forum

  8. Progress to Date • A positive bank balance • Funding at end of year stood at £28,956 • A growing list of sponsors • Smartcard networking forum

  9. Prospects • Co-operative relationships with • Industry • Smartgov Forum • LASSEO • EGU Smartcard Strategy Group • NP ‘Smartcard Steering Gp’ • A watching brief for next 12 months? • User focus, consultation,feedback, advocacy • Smartcard networking forum
