History • Allow students to use a variety of skills to describe, explain and make judgments upon key events from the past that have influenced the way we will live today. • To allow students to form their own opinions based upon their possession of a vast array of investigative techniques and personal skills.

  3. Geography and Global Perspectives • To describe and explain the processes that have created and influenced the human and physical world focusing on the relationship between both disciplines using numerous skills and forms of presentation. • To analyse the causes and consequences of key Global Issues, make predictions about the future and offer solutions to these problems, reflecting on one’s own personal perspective in comparison to others.

  4. 5 Year Outline • Year 7 and 8 – History and Geography • Year 9-11 History and Global Perspectives (GP) • Year 9 GP – prep year (skills needed for the course) • Year 9 may attempt 1 or 2 IGCSE History Units • Year 10-11 IGCSE History and GP

  5. Global Perspectives • 3 Years • Year 9 – Transition Year • Two pieces of coursework (Individual and team project) • GP is basically a study of current Global Issues, assessing the causes and consequences and predicting the future using a vast skill set
