Objective was to have regular meetings with commanders with a focus on:

Accelerated search and sorting capabilities

4. The Crime Strategy Evolution Focus meetings with representatives of Patrol, Investigation, and Command Staff
A successful process must have:
Management Commitment
Strategies Driven by Accurate and Timely Data
Follow-up and Assessment
5. Crime Strategy Meetings Bi-weekly Meetings
Crime Analysis Captain to provide a city-wide report on the status of crime
Use of density maps detailing significant crime trends, patterns, and spikes
Command decision on new projects, priorities, and selection of project team
Assistant Chief to be identified as the coordinator for project(s). Role will be to ensure resource needs are facilitated and time lines are met
Project team to establish strategies, tactics, community efforts and resources needed to address problem. Will meet as necessary to evaluate progress
6. Crime Strategy Meetings (Cont’d) Specific crime reduction goals and time lines will be established
Officers and sergeants involved with project will participate in the Crime Strategy meetings and discussion
Three Assistant Chiefs will be named and tasked with developing the questions assessing the performance of project team
Briefing of outcome of projects can be provided at city-wide and divisional PIP meetings
7. Divisional Crime Strategy Meetings Patrol and Investigative commanders will hold regularly scheduled crime briefings with Lieutenants and Sergeants
Lieutenants will be responsible for crime briefings for their respective shifts
Utilization of WebFocus via the intranet
Development of action plans addressing crime trends
8. Divisional Crime Strategy Meetings (Cont’d) Shift Productivity Measurement Review
Development of crime prevention and educational activities
Patrol and Investigative Assistant Chiefs to monitor progress by randomly participating at divisional crime strategy meetings
9. Continual Support Dissemination of a daily report of area specific and adjoining districts crime spikes or significant events
Mapping capabilities at the divisional level
Refresher training to Captains, Lieutenant, Sergeants, and divisional analysts
10. Crime Data A Crime Analysis Division report covering eight weeks of crime data (or other time periods requested by the working group).
Part I Violent and Part I Non-Violent Crime
Command Staff chooses which areas and crime types to allocate resources
Crime Analysis and Command Center Division
Provides additional tabular data on the targeted areas
Coordinates with the effected Patrol and Investigative Division Crime Analysts once a project team is established

Once priorities are set – drill down tabular data will be provided including incident numbers, warrant information and parolee data

13. Analysis The Crime Analysis & Command Center Division will continue to provide detailed 30 day reports to division managers.
We want to provide actionable information and analysis; therefore, we will adapt and adjust how we report information based on the needs of project teams.
