Erasmus University CharterApplication workshop Input informed by: • Hands-on involvement in European and international projects and activities since 1989; • Experience as Head of Department of European & International Programmes at Scotland’s largest college of further & higher education from 1996 to 2002; • Head of Socrates team at Technical Assistance Office, in Brussels, from 2002 to 2006; • Work as Commission/EACEA "expert" for Erasmus, Grundtvig, EQF, Culture, Accompanying Measures since 2006 to present; • Role as sector representative on UK NAs’ Advisory Groups, Scottish Bologna Stakeholders’ Group, SCQF Partnership, Scottish INTERREG Forum; • Being Council Member of EURASHE (European Association of Institutions in Higher Education)

Erasmus University CharterApplication workshop Many EPSs: • Say something about the institution, its place in the national education scene and its history of transnational collaboration. • Outline future plans for transnational cooperation in context of LLP and link these to work done so far. • Describe their arrangements for promoting transnational mobility. • List quality procedures to support transnational activities. • Make specific mention of policies to combat inequality. • Promote benefits of formal recognition. • Make reference to Bologna.

Erasmus University CharterApplication workshop Basic avoidable mistakes in EUC applications: • choosing ‘ wrong’ Charter • incomplete applications • absence of detail • lack of coherence • inconsistent /contradictory information • irrelevant information • no European dimension • (obvious) plagiarism • streams of consciousness
