  3. Etymology The term “Ravenna” comes from the Latin word RAVA, that is steep ravine, plus the Etruscan suffix -ENNA.

  4. Geographic position Ravenna is located just a few kilometers away from the Adriatic sea, in the low Po river Plain.

  6. The territory Ravenna is an art city located on the border of the sea: 9 seaside resorts stretching over a coast of 35 kilometres.
