2nd Crime: The stabbing and near-decapitation of 4 year old Horace Miller

Place: Dorchester Bay, Massachusetts

Victim: Horace Miller

Young Offender: 12 year old Jesse Pomeroy

December 10, 1874  was found guilty

February 1875  sentenced to hang

September 7, 1876 16 years old when sentenced to Charlestown State Prison

Judges would not take responsibility for Pomeroy’s hanging
