Collet Blocks

  • Uses

  • Primarily used as devices to mount stock for easier shop work

  • Holding a square part on the three jaw lathes

  • To find and transfer locations on circular and hexagonal Stock

  • Vise non-square stock

  • Mounting and machining screws

  • Blocks are tapered inward so make sure the ring is tight to ensure safe mounting

  • Uses for collet blocks are infinite, don’t be afraid to use them for any application but be safe

  • Procedure

  • Choose collet that best fits the shape of the block

  • Place stock in collet

  • Place collet in block

  • Tighten ring

  • Collet block is ready to be used for any mounting device
