  2. On September 11th 2001, America was attacked by Al-Qaeda. • There were massive causalities, the most destructive being the attack on the twin towers in New York city. • I am going to present to you some of the events of that day.

  3. This is New York city before the attack. • The two large buildings in the picture are the twin towers of the World Trade Centre • These were once the tallest buildings on the planet.

  4. At 8:46 AM a plane, hijacked by members of Al-Qaeda, was flown into one of the towers. • People thought it was an accident. • Little did they know that the worst was yet to come.

  5. At 9:06 AM another plane was deliberately flown into the second tower. • Surprisingly, the people working in the other tower were still working.

  6. With both buildings on fire , emergency services frantically tried to evacuate. • At this point, people were starting to run.

  7. Then, at 10 am, the first tower collapsed. • At this point many people died.

  8. After the second tower colapsed, a total of 2977 people were killed or unaccounted for.

  9. Emergency services worked tirelessly to search for survivors . • Despite the scale of the tragedy, the people of New York pulled together to help each other.

  10. Today, there is a memorial where the twin towers were so that the people of New York can pay their respects to the people that they lost that day.
