The Freshman Academy The Freshman Academy provides a foundation for success in the secondary stages of the educational process Gender specific teaching contributes to focused learning objectives Designed as a rigorous preparatory program, this small learning community equips ninth graders for careers in Bioscience, Information Technology, or Global Studies

  4. Kingsbury Optional Program The Kingsbury High Optional program prepares students for future success through innovative programs in: Bioscience Technology Global Studies

  5. Bioscience Program Rigorous curriculum designed to introduce students to the growing field of Bioscience Students prepare for the future by studying Biotechnology and Medical Sciences Mentorships and internships to allow students to develop further knowledge of their chosen field

  14. “Lights, Camera, Take Action” • Super Bowl viewers in the Mid-South watched the winning entry of the FOX13 'Lights, Camera, Take Action!’ contest which portrayed a gut wrenching warning about drinking and driving. Requirements: In grades 9-12, students must have a B average per course/per semester with no failing grades, and scores at or above the 50th percentile on a current nationally normed or TCAP Achievement Test on the Reading/Language Arts AND Mathematics subtests or the equivalent On a current EXPLORE, PLAN, or ACT, eligible students must score at or above the 50th percentile in Reading, English, and Mathematics

Requirements (cont): On a current PSAT or SAT, eligible scores on Critical Reading, Writing Skills, and Mathematics sections must be equivalent to the 50th percentile or above All applicants must have satisfactory conduct and attendance (including promptness to school and to each class). A total of more than 15 absences and/or tardies is considered unsatisfactory The PSAT/NMSQT is required in the tenth and eleventh grades

Requirements (cont): All Optional students must score Proficient or Advanced on the appropriate End-of-Course exams To remain in the Optional program, students must maintain the program requirements, a C or above in each course for the semester, and satisfactory conduct and attendance (including promptness to school and each class) Transportation is the responsibility of the student’s parents/legal guardians
