New Generation Systems of RNSS • Currently operating RNSS systems • 1215-1260 MHz and 1559-1610 MHz bands • Use of NGSO satellites • Global positioning capability • One of the most suitable applications of satellites • (No other means for precise positioning and global coverage) • Needs for new spectrum allocations for the next generation systems • Additional allocations (WRC-2000) • Studies for sharing with other services and system coordination • Agenda item 1.15 (WRC-03)
