  2. Com’è? In Italian you use the masculine form of an adjective to describe a male and the feminine form to describe a female. Elena è alta. Giorgio è alto. Adjectives ending in –e describe feminine and masculine nouns. The last letter does not change. Dario è intelligente. Angela è intelligente.

  3. Chedomande! In Italian you can make a question by simply putting a question mark at the end of your sentence. Giorgio è simpatico. Giorgio è simpatico? When you are speaking Italian you make it clear that you are asking a question by using a questioning tone of voice. Barbara è pronta? Seipronta, Barbara?

  4. Molto In Italian the word for very is molto. It doesn’t change like the adjectives do. Giorgio è moltosportivo. Lidia è moltosportiva. Giorgio è molto forte. Lidia è moltoforte.

This is how to talk about liking or not liking a thing. Ti piaceil basket? No, non mi piace lo sport. Mi piace la scuola. Ti piacel’italiano? Notice that in Italian you use the word for ‘the’ with the thing you like.

  8. Mio e tuo With a masculine noun you use ilmio(‘my’) and iltuo (‘your’). With a feminine noun you use la mia(‘my’) and la tua ( ‘your’). You do not have to worry about what letter the noun starts with. Questo è ilmioamico Giorgio. Dov’èiltuozaino? Questa è la miaclasse. Eccola tuaamica!
