  1. Procedures for Mrs. Patton’s classroom League Academy 2009-2010

  2. Daily Activities Beginning Class- -wait outside door before entering -come into class quietly -have agenda opened at seat to behavior card -have supplies ready and begin Daily Response activity from promethean board

  3. When using table supplies: keep ALL supplies neat and organized-REMEMBER- ALL tables use the supplies daily and they need to last as long as possible • To borrow pencils/paper- see Mrs. Patton after roll- borrowing materials cost one punch

  4. In and Out of Class To leave class- • MUST have an agenda pass- complete date/time and location- • quietly approach Mrs. Patton for signature AFTER roll and class instruction is COMPLETE • If arriving after start of class- come in quietly/ give pass to Mrs. Patton and assume work quickly -Class Dismissal- students will be called to dismiss when EVERYONE at the table is seated QUIETLY

  5. “Get ‘Er Done” • Class notes and classwork- To pass in OR in notebook, LABEL all work as directed in the UPPER RIGHT SIDE: FULL name Student number Date Class period Assignment name -If missing work- complete the “MISSING WORK” sheet and return to Mrs. Patton ONLY work registered will be taken the following day for PARTIAL credit **Ten points (per day) is subtracted from your possible score for work turned in late

Weekly Research • students will copy the “Research” questions on Mondays for each topic with the ANSWERS due THURSDAY morning BEFORE announcements to the class tray • answers will be checked in class on Thursday for a MINOR grade and the answers will be posted on Mrs. Patton’s website Thursday afternoon. • The “Research” questions quiz will be on Friday- for a MAJOR grade

  7. Weekly Research • The following Monday, students will be given an “Applications” assignment, to reinforce and practice the topic research skills. • “Application” activities are due on that Thursday morning BEFORE announcements to the class tray-answers will be checked in class on Thursday for a MINOR grade. • On Friday, students will complete an “Application” quiz for a MAJOR grade.

  8. Homework -posted each day on the FRONT BOARD- right hand side under the date, as well as on Mrs. Patton’s website “Homework Page” and the team 6-1 Google calendar

  9. Literature Notebooks • students are responsible for bringing their Literature notebook to class EVERY day and maintaining assignments in the notebook- in CORRECT ORDER • Mrs. Patton will keep a class posting of assignments in proper notebook sections for student information, as well as a sample class notebook which students may check, with proper permission to use

  10. Bulldogs say “RFFF!” RFFF Read For Fun Fridays Every other Friday, bring a book or magazine to read- just for the fun of it! Reading will be AFTER the Weekly Research activities are completed.

  11. Class Library Check-out • - students may check out books from Mrs. Patton’s class library for 2 weeks at a time. • Students must see Mrs. Patton to “sign out” any book for check out at the END of class

  12. “Do Not Enter!” • NO student has permission to go behind Mrs. Patton’s desk nor to “help themselves” to any item on her desk- Remember- CPR- “The Heart of the Matter”

  14. To Tell..or Not to Tell Before you “tell on” someone else, ask: • Is someone in danger? 2.Am I telling to HELP or HURT someone else? 3. Have I done everything I can to help solve the problem? Yes? TELL an adult immediately!! HELP? TELL an adult immediately!! HURT?Don’t tattle – take care of YOURSELF!

  15. What’s on your mind? • students may leave a note for Mrs. Patton in her “Sunshine Bag” at any time- you may ask a question about procedures, project… express concerns with classmates or teammates..whatever

  16. Operational Definitions • students will follow the policies of League Academy, as explained in the handbook, and • will uphold the class Operational Definitions, determined by student comments and posted in class

  17. " Successful Classroom" A cooperative environment where all students come organized and prepared so everyone can give their full attention to others in an atmosphere of respect and encouragement. "High Quality Work" High quality work is completed neatly and carefully, following directions and using correct grammar to thoughtfully produce the best work possible - on time.

  18. "High Quality Student" A high quality student is responsible and well behaved in class, listening and paying attention to directions and procedures so they can always do their BEST work, finishing tasks carefully, completely and on time in order to respect themselves and others.

  19. “High Quality Teacher” A high quality teacher listens to her students, answers their questions and makes learning fun. She is helpful and understanding, maintaining a positive attitude while teaching the skills needed for each student to succeed in class. She also maintains a fair and firm classroom atmosphere with respect for everyone.

  20. “On Time” Students are prepared for class, with their supplies ready, when the third bell (“tardy bell”) rings to start class.
