Graph the following and determine the solutions.

x2 + x – 12 = 0

Finding zeros in your calculator.

  • Find the zeros:

    16x2 – 12x – 18 = 0

    1. Press y= and enter in the function.

2. Press graph.

3. Press 2nd and then Trace.

4. Press #2 zero


Look at each zero individually.

5. Find a point to the left of the zero and press enter.


Look at each zero individually.

6. Find a point to the right of the zero and press enter.


Look at each zero individually.

7. Press enter one more time.
