By the end of today: I will be able to find x-intercepts by graphing.

x2 + x – 12 = 0

x2 + 7x = -10

*Must be y= or 0= to use calculator.

3x2 – 5x = 8

*Must be y= or 0= to use calculator.

• Find the zeros:

16x2 – 12x – 18 = 0

1. Press y= and enter in the function.

2. Press graph.

3. Press 2nd and then Trace.

4. Press #2 zero

5. Find a point to the left of the zero and press enter.

6. Find a point to the right of the zero and press enter.

7. Press enter one more time.

8. Repeat steps 3-7 to find the other zero.

• Find the zeros of y = 8x2 – 18x – 35
