  5. KanRoad Road Condition Reporting System • System Allows Real-time Data Input • Camera views added in 2008 • Feeds Winter Performance Measure Database

  6. Winter Index • Objective indication of winter severity • Formula parameters: • Nov 1st to March 31st • air temperature (min. and max.) • snowfall amounts • number of air frosts • temperature range

  8. Winter Index Proves Useful in “Equalizing” Other Comparisons

KDOT Maintenance Training Expo • Annual 1-1/2 day training • Geared to the Equipment Operator to provide the latest info. in snow/ice • Classroom sessions, vendor booths, tours, demonstrations • One-third KDOT (485) maintenance employees • APWA attendees (100) • Held in Salina, Kansas - you are all welcome to attend!
