  2. Objectives • Utilize Renewable Production Potential (RPP) values for URC and OOME • Use the Energy Ratio Share (ERS) to calculate Regulation obligations

  3. Renewable Production Potential • Uncontrollable Renewable Resource Generators that can only produce an amount of energy directly related to their supply of variable energy from their respective renewable resources, such as wind or solar. • Renewable Production Potential The maximum generation in MWh/interval from an Uncontrollable Renewable Resource that could be generated from all available units of such Resource.

  4. Energy Ratio Share • Energy Ratio Share A QSE’s ratio of Adjusted Metered Load plus Settlement Meter energy output from Uncontrollable Renewable Resources electing to utilize Renewable Production Potential for URC and OOME to total ERCOT Adjusted Metered Load plus Settlement Meter energy output from Uncontrollable Renewable Resources electing to utilize Renewable Production Potential for URC and OOME related to the appropriate interval.

  5. Energy Ratio Share Where: • AMLwq = Adjusted Metered Load for the QSE • GSITETOTwq = Metered Generation output for the QSE • AMLE= ERCOT Adjusted Metered Load

  6. Implementation Update • Manual Workaround for URC and OOME calculations (RPP) • Currently not calculating ERS for Regulation obligations

  7. Allocation of Regulation Costs Analysis • Calculate regulation obligation and costs for wind-only QSEs Objective Data • 6 wind-only QSEs analyzed • June 26, 2006 date • Only 4 wind-Only QSEs have elected to use RPP
