Objective • Understand x86-based general purpose computer systems with hands-on experience • x86-based general-purpose vs embedded systems • x86 programming in assembly • Interrupt mechanism in x86-based systems • PCI Express • x86 system emulation with Bochs • Virtualization Technology (VT) • VT experiments with Qemu/KVM

  4. Grading Policy • Midterm Exam: 30% • Class Presentations: 20% • Assignments: 25% • Final Project: 25% • Fail rule • You will be given an “F” if absent more than 3 times • 2 late show-ups will be counted as 1 absence
