  2. Purpose of Presentation: • To inform you on homelessness • Inspire you to get involved and make an effort in someone’s life • by your time, money or donation of food and or clothing, ect…

  3. History of Homelessness: (America) • HUGEproblem, many don’t think exist • “On any given night in America, anywhere from 700,000 to 2 million people are homeless”, according to National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty.

  4. History of Homelessness:(El Salvador) • "A million people are homeless and there have been severe problems with sickness,'' said Sam Hine • HUGE problem all over the Globe!!! A trash tuck delivering trash to the dump in El Salvador, with people and vultures close by to salvage anything they can.

More Pictures of Homeless:(El Salvador) 1. 2. 3. 1) People working on the dump, collecting food, clothes and anything that will help them. 2)This is a typical dump home, including a can of lacquer thinner in the corner, the life of the hopeless can only be faced in this way. 3)A child, looking up with innocence and longing for help, eating a meal that is most likely her first in over a week and her last for awhile.

  7. Ways to get involved: • ONE hour of your time can make a difference!!! • Donate your clothes that are collecting dust in your closet…anything helps those in need. • Holidays are a great opportunity to get involved • Soup kitchens • Angle tree • Food donations • Money • Your time

  8. Side Notes… “What do you think about homelessness?” • I hope that this slide show has given you a since of desire to make a difference in someone’s life. Homelessness is serious problem that is over looked too often. • I encourage you to research supporting an organization and or lending a hand to help make a difference. • The time I spent in El Salvador was a huge eye opener. It allowed me to see what takes place in parts of world that I never thought existed. • I ask you this question… “What can YOU do to help change a life?” • Think about it, what you do can save a life.
