  1. Welcome Students! In this course we will be using PRSRF: a classroom response system to conduct real-time polling in class.

  2. How does it work? • Questions are posed in class. • Use your personal remote to enter your answer. • Results are automatically tallied and displayed anonymously to the entire class. • You receivepoints for participatingand/or answering correctly. • All of the above!

  4. How clickers will help you: • Reinforces concepts • Provides progress checks • Monitors attendance and participation • Gauges classroom and individual performance

  5. Here’s what you need: • A personal PRSRF student remote (purchased stand-alone at the bookstore).

  6. Special bookstore offer • Buy the textbook + rebate card bundle. • Complete & submit rebate card within 30 days. • Get a personal check back!

PRS rf Get in the Gradebook: You only need to do this ONCE! • Turn on Clicker - Battery symbol displayed • Stop scan by hitting “ * ” on the keypad • Hit “ * ” again which takes you to the Setup Menu • Scroll Up to ID: • Hit “Send/Enter” key (green button) • Type in your Student ID number • Hit “Send/Enter” • Hit “ * ” to exit the Setup Menu • Your ID is now stored in your clicker! • Turn it off.

PRS rf When you come to class: • Turn ON your Clicker - Battery symbol displayed. • Clicker will scan for your course. • When you see your course, click the green Enter button. • When I ask a “clicker” question, enter your answer in the keypad and click the green Enter button to send. • Turn it off at the end of class.

  11. Let’s try it right now! Using clickers in class will help me… • Get credit for participating. • Stay awake after a late night out. • Understand what I need to study…before the first quiz. • See how I compare to other students in class. • All of the above.

  12. The grade I think I can get in this class is…. • I’m an A student! • I’ll get a B, no sweat. • I’ll probably get a C…is that good enough? • Ummm…I’ll take what I can get.

  13. We wish you success! • Get your textbook package & clicker. • Enter your ID in your remote • Submit for your $10 rebate (make a copy if you want to follow up!). • Bring your materials to class!
