  18. Every Student Passes when… • Present each day. • Work to the best of their ability.

  19. Policy • 60% Major Grades: Tests & Projects • 40% Minor Grades: • 20% Classwork/Homework/Quiz • 20% Informal Lab/Activities A = 93-100 B = 85-92 C = 77-84 D = 70-76 F = 0-69

  20. Academic Honesty • Cheating in any form will not be tolerated. • Cheating involves but is not limited to the following: • Copying another student’s work • Sharing your work with another student • Copying and pasting work from the internet • Use of “cheat sheets” • “wandering eye” syndrome • Any suspected incidence will result in a zero for the assignment and a call to parents.

  21. Homework Policy • Homework is essential to learning. • Homework is posted in the left corner of the board each day. • Each night expect 15-20 minutes of written homework and/or reading your notes. • Homework will be checked throughout the 9 weeks for a completion grade. • It is your responsibility to complete homework. • Homework will not be accepted late.

  22. Handing in assignments • Homework will be collected at the beginning of class. Teacher will give a “last call”. If your work is not turned in by “last call”, you will receive a zero. • It is your responsibility to be sure that all work is turned in on time.

  23. Late Work • ONLY assignments associated with an excused absence may be turned in late for credit. • You will be given 5 days from your return to school to complete late work.

  24. Additional Information

  25. Absences • If you are absent you must return with an admit slip from the attendance office. Place it in the sign-in log. • It is your responsibility to find out what you missed. It’s a good idea to find a buddy in the class to get notes and assignments from. • You are allowed five days to complete all make-up work or it will become a zero.

  26. Hall Passes • Each student will be allowed 2 hall passes each nine weeks. • If you need to leave the room bring your hall pass to be punched. You must also have your handbook/agenda & your student ID. • NO PASS = NO GO…. • You may not leave while Miss Ashton is actively teaching. • Any passes after 2 will result in 15 minutes detention.

  27. Extra Help • I will post dates and times on the board as test dates are determined. • I will hold study sessions prior to tests. • If you need additional help, please see me and we can set up time after school to work together.
