  4. A sustainable future can be Achieved only if we can find ways To preserve and expand our Environmental resources.

  5. The Earth Summit in 1992 was Just a step in the right direction. For 12 days, hundreds of Government officials worked Together to hammer out International agreements.

  6. The Earth Summit yielded Some positive results. Agenda 21, The Biodiversity Treaty, Earth Charter, Global Warming Conventions, And the Statement on Forest Principles were all put into law.

  7. Many other international Treaties have been passed Since then… Antarctic treaty, CITIES, Montreal Protocol, And the Kyoto Treaty Are just a few.

  8. 14-2 Environmental Policies in the U.S. The United States has been among The leaders in environmental Protection.

  9. We created the world’s first National park, the first Earth day, and the first EPA. U.S. Law now requires an Environmental impact statement. An EIS is a form that is required For any project that would have A significant effect on the Environment.

  10. The creation of dams, highways, Airports, and many other Projects all require an EIS.

  11. Since the first Earth Day in 1970, We have discovered a great Deal about pollution, the Atmosphere and the Functioning of ecosystems. So what was the point of This whole class?
