  2. What Is An Adjective? An adjective describes the quantity or quality a noun. big small adorable expensive ugly clumsy jealous poor different

  3. Placement • An adjective is usually placed immediately before a noun. Examples: angry people stale sandwiches ill child

  4. Some adjectives, however, can only be used after a verb and never before a noun. Examples: The boy was asleep on the sofa. ✔ The asleep boy was on the sofa. ✗ • Adjectives can also be placed at the end of a sentence instead of before a noun. Example: She played the violin beautifully.

  5. EXERCISE 1: Choose the correct adjectives to place before each noun in the text given below. Each word can only be used once. tiny unique spectacular big cool soft colourful two-room calm white
