  2. Tribes • Ojibwa • Powhatan • Massachuset • Oneida • Onondaga • Cayuga • Seneca • Tuscarora

Geography • The Current States in the area are: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky. The current bodies of water and landforms in the area are: The Atlantic Ocean, Great Lakes, Appellation Mountain Range

  4. Houses • They looked like a long box, or an open house • They were made of wood and bark. • Large compared to other Indian homes. • Housed a few families.

  5. Food • They eat corn , beans , squash and hunted bear, rabbits, and deer. • They grew their crops.

  6. Clothing • They made clothing out of grass for the hot weather and deer skins for cold weather

  7. Duties • The men hunted bear, rabbits, deer and the woman cooked and the children learned their parents traditions.

  8. Customs and Traditions • They used Wampum to symbolize agreements. They played a game called snow snake and went to powwow meetings. • Our customs are very different than theirs.

  9. Crafts • They made Wampum, Dreamcatchers, and Birchbark boxes

  10. Transportation • They didn’t travel that much, but did go place to place. They used horseback and they didn't use any transportation devices-they carried what they need to.

  11. Other Interesting Facts • Before a confederacy was made, the Haudenosaunee people (present day New York State) fought a lot. These tribes were Mohawks, Oneidas, Onondagas, Cayugas, and Senecas. The Mohawks were especially good at iron works.
